Our internet connection was updated today. We upgraded from Comcastic to Utopida fiber-optic. Now you should be able to find your fix on our servers many times faster.
I am interested how my speed test link (above) compares with other tests. Fairly similar or is mine a little off? Let me know.

As some of you may know I’ve been helping test the next Ubuntu release, Dapper v6.04. My only issue so far has been with support for wireless on my notebook.
Previously I’ve had to use ndiswrapper, which ‘wraps’ the windows driver & uses that to load the card. In this next version they’ve implemented a new system that loads a native linux driver that some of the developers have reverse engineered for the Broadcom chipset. Great work guys! This is a huge step forward for not having to rely on the outside community.
Well tonight I’ve finally got it working pretty consistently. For anyone thats interested I’ve got a link for you. Its a .deb package that includes the firmware & does all the installation for you.

I’ve installed Xgl on my desktop (Ubuntu Development Branch – Dapper 6.04) and it is sweet! Check out some screenshots here.
The tutorial I used to install is here.
This is a list of known-supported video cards (nvidia popular as expected)

We wish to express our serious concern with AOL’s adoption of Goodmail’s CertifiedEmail, which is a threat to the free and open Internet.
This system would create a two-tiered Internet in which affluent mass emailers could pay AOL a fee that amounts to an “email tax” for every email sent, in return for a guarantee that such messages would bypass spam filters and go directly to AOL members’ inboxes. Those who did not pay the “email tax” would increasingly be left behind with unreliable service. Your customers expect that your first obligation is to deliver all of their wanted mail, and this plan is a step away from that obligation.
