Add this to &quot;/etc/clamd.conf&quot;
User amavis

And make sure &quot;/etc/amavisd.conf&quot; has:
$daemon_user  = &quot;amavis&quot;;
$daemon_group = &quot;amavis&quot;;

Then try something like:
&quot;chown amavis.root /var/run/clamav/clamd.ctl&quot;
&quot;chmod 770 /var/run/clamav/clamd.ctl&quot;

Then again, who knows?</description>
