I’ve been using Flock now for almost two months I’m a total “Flockstar!” I really enjoy its smooth interface, compatibility with Firefox extensions and integrated social browsing options. It has simple browser-blogging, double-click URL bookmarking to del.icio.us or Shadow. Also integrated Flickr & PhotoBucket accounts. Try it out. Join the Flock!
For those of use using Ubuntu, prior to a .deb package being made for Flock, I’ve put together a simple 5 step installation tutorial. This will install a menu listing and make Flock available for all users on the machine.
1. Download Flock (Save As…)
2. Save the archive (should be on Desktop): sudo tar -C /opt -xzvf flock-*.linux-i686.tar.gz
3. Create a link: sudo ln -s /opt/flock/flock /usr/bin/flock
4. Create menu item: sudo gedit /usr/share/applications/flock.desktop
[Desktop Entry]
Encoding=UTF-8
Name=Flock
Comment=Flock Web Browser
Exec=flock
Icon=/opt/flock/icons/mozicon128.png
StartupNotify=true
Terminal=false
Type=Application
Categories=Applications;Network
5. Refresh the menu: killall gnome-panel
Blogged with Flock
Hey, glad to hear you’re digging Flock. Hope our browser is really kickin’ butt for you.
Why not show the word proudly what a Flockstar you are? We have buttons that look oh so good and instructions for how to add them to your WordPress blog.

I’ve done this install but the problem I have found is that when you run across a posted flickr photo it doesn’t give you that “view photostream” button that supposed to be there. And when you right-click on text you type (like this here) it doesn’t give you the “check spelling” in the menu either. Is there a way to fix this?
Tom, I guess I haven’t tried those options–perhaps I haven’t been aware of them. I’ve never known of a spell-check option (other than in FF2).
Also, you might want to make sure you’re using the latest version found here:

Hi
I downloaded to Klikit Feisty, right clicked and extracted, it extracted it’s own folder, clicked the icon and it ran fine… TRUELY a “different” browser, especially for the “younger folks” that are “wired”, I reviewed it positively at the forum….there are so many extra features that I’ve never tried before that it’ll take a while to explore all of them, great job folks….this is the kind of thing that will help attract attention in both the Windblows world and the Linux.
